The PFA Level 2 Certification is designed for pole instructors and experienced polers who are ready to take their teaching to the next level. This course is for you if:
✔️ You’ve completed PFA Level 1 Certification and want to expand your ability to teach intermediate pole skills, including inversions, advanced climbs and descents, one-arm spins, combination spins, and reverse grabs.
✔️ You’re an experienced poler who understands the importance of proper progression and wants to safely guide students through higher-risk movements, such as the Butterfly, Inverted Pike, and Figure 4 Layback.
✔️ You’re serious about technique and injury prevention and want a deeper understanding of anatomy, sports training, and physics to refine your teaching approach.

🚨 Important Note: Since Level 2 introduces inverted movements, participants must already have a solid ability to perform intermediate fundamentals including Basic Inversions, Shoulder Dismounts, the Figure 4 Layback, Inverted Pike and the Butterfly. To enroll in the PFA Level 2 Certification, you must meet the following prerequisites:

✔️ Move Prerequisites: Level 2 introduces inverted and higher-risk moves, so participants must have a solid ability to perform the following:

✔️ Volunteer Prerequisite for Online (Stainless), Self-Study (Chrome) and Live Virtual Group:
As part of the course, you will practice spotting techniques for Level 2 moves. To complete these assignments, you must have a volunteer who can competently perform these moves. For live in-person trainings, you do not need a volunteer.
⚠️ For safety reasons, you should NOT practice spotting techniques on someone who does not already know how to execute these moves.

Yes! The PFA Level 2 course is approved for Continuing Education Credits (CECs) with ACE. Upon completing either the Level 2 CEC Course or the full Level 2 Certification, you will receive a digital certificate containing the course numbers needed for your fitness certification renewal. If you are looking for NASM or AFAA CECs, our students have always successfully petitioned for these through NASM and AFAA upon completion of the Level 2 course.

This includes access to the CEC written exam, which is different from the certification written exam. You do not need prior teaching experience, but you must be able to perform the foundational moves covered in the course. Since this certification teaches how to teach, it does not provide instruction on how to execute the moves themselves.
💡 We recommend at least 1 year of pole experience before enrolling. If you’re unsure whether you’re ready, or if you need to learn the required moves, you can review the Level 2 classes and tutorials in the PFA Premium (instructor) membership. If you are not a current PFA Instructor member, you can enroll in our PFA Premium (Instructor) Membership.

If you need additional preparation, this option will ensure you have the necessary skills before starting your Level 2 instructor training.

Once you purchase any certification package, you will have lifetime access to the course materials, including any updates we make. Your access will only be removed if:
1️⃣ You choose to delete your PFA account, or
2️⃣ We make significant modifications to the course, in which case we will notify you in advance.
This means you can always revisit the content whenever you need to refresh your knowledge or refine your teaching skills!
• Chrome: You have 12 months from purchase to complete your exams.
• Stainless: You have 6 months of trainer access once you select your trainer, but you can study the materials for up to eighteen months before choosing your trainer.
• Brass: Live training is scheduled within a structured timeframe, and exams are completed during the live training.
To earn your PFA Level 2 Certification, you must successfully complete the following:
✅ Demonstrate the Level 2 moves on both sides with proper technique
✅ Teach Level 2 moves with clarity.=
✅ Create and teach a 4 move supine combination
✅ Create and teach a 4 move prone combination
✅ Teach the basic inversion progression
✅ Safely spot Level 2 moves
✅ Achieve a minimum score of 70% on the written exam
These requirements ensure that certified instructors have the skills, knowledge, and confidence to teach intermediate-level pole classes safely and effectively.
There are two exams:
1️⃣ Multiple Choice Written Exam – Covers theory, safety, technique, and teaching methodology.
• Chrome: 2 attempts
• Stainless & Brass: 4 attempts
2️⃣ Practical Exam – Demonstrates your ability to instruct and cue movements.
• Chrome: 2 attempts done via video submission (feedback provided after the first)
• Stainless: Practical is broken into multiple assignments submitted over time with unlimited feedback within 6 months.
• Brass: Practical requirements are completed live during training. If unable to complete all of the physical requirements during the training, video submissions may be made to your Master Trainer within 6 months of the training date.
